Albuquerque Rose Garden

OVERVIEW
The Albuquerque Rose Garden, completed in 1995, was the result of a four year collaboration among the City of Albuquerque, the Library director and branch manager, landscape architect William Perkins and the Albuquerque Rose Society. The garden is located on the grounds of the Wyoming Regional Library in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At a cost of more than $400,000, provided by the City and by hundreds of donations of cash and roses from individuals and nurseries from all over the United States, the renovation was completed three years before an American Rose Society National Convention in Albuquerque and was highlighted at that Convention. It was gratifying to have the director of AARS Public Rose Gardens attend and leave his card with a note on the back that said “This is one of the most impressive public rose gardens I have ever seen.”

Brooklyn Botanic Garden: Roses

There is nothing more sensuous than a mass of fragrant, colorful rosebushes in bloom. In the Cranford Rose Garden in early summer, tens of thousands of roses cascade down arches, climb up lattices, clamber over the pavilion, and pose in formal beds.

Here, over 5,000 bushes of nearly 1,200 varieties thrive, including All-America Rose Selections (AARS), wild species, old garden roses, hybrid teas, grandifloras, floribundas, polyanthas, hybrid perpetuals, climbers, ramblers, and miniatures.

Great Comp Garden

A garden of 7 acres, comprising many beautiful and rare shrubs, perennials and other hardy and half hardy plants. It is a plantsman's haven, with the year starting off with Helleborus, followed by Magnolias, Rhododendrons and Azaleas; then through the remainder of the year with rare and exotic shrubs and perennial plants - such as the huge collection of Salvias.

There are substantial areas of both formal and informal plantings - teasingly linked with meandering grass paths and home built ruins - homing in on an Italian Garden!

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, usually referred to simply as Kew Gardens, are extensive gardens and botanical glasshouses between Richmond upon Thames and Kew in southwest London, England. The director is Professor Stephen D. Hopper, who succeeded Professor Sir Peter Crane. The Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew is also the name of the organisation that runs Kew Gardens and Wakehurst Place gardens in Sussex. It is an internationally important botanical research and education institution with 700 staff and an income of £44 million for the year ended 31 March 2006. [1] Chris Turner (New Zealand) and Rob Causer (UK) rebuilt the southern spiral staircase, of the Palm house, in 1988.
