Re: Palin and environment
Yes,seriously. Basically you have to look at the entire life cycle of the material from cradle to grave and include environmental needs. I have not seen a study on hemp but recall such a comparison of cotton versus polyester. This was an old study which would need updating but overall superiority

The "never-ending" theorem was taught (taught still?) as part of the Louisiana Purchase train of thought in most public schools. Followed by "go west, young man". And other fairy tales in such old Hollywood movie fabrications as well. Another is Seward's Folly ala Alaska being something equally for something to be tamed and domesticated. Agapanthus without blooms
I moved to Northwest Arkansas three years ago and each spring have observed the emergence of thick, spear-shaped leaves in a portion of my new front yard. I have noticed this plant growing in other parts of town as well. On a visit to Southern California this summer, I was able to identify the plant as the leafy growth of agapanthus - which

Re: Brussell Sprouts with no Sprouts!
I have huge beautiful plants with little tiny nubs for sprouts. They did this last year, and it wasn't until late October or November or so that they actually grew. I ate b.sprouts all winter long. In February I was picking big fat sprouts off of the plants, those that survived the snow and ice (which was most of them).

Brussell Sprouts with no Sprouts!
I have been growing Jade Cross Brussell sprouts for years and have always had great crops. This year, however, the plants are big and beautiful as always but not a sprout to be found! I didn't do anything different that I know of. What happened? Anybody else ever have this problem?

Re: Palin and environment
I do not. Hemp is not to be compared with what you suggest doing. PA farmers could grow and earn from hemp. New Holland would design better equipment, more jobs and in 10 years of legalization it would help economy. Or so they say. I do not support legalizing what you suggest. In fact I would oppose it.

Re: Asiatic Lily
Hypatia Yes, true lilies are bulbs. And they are once a season bloomers. If you have Sunset Garden Book 2001, seventh Edition, look at p. 433 and start with the 6th paragraph about care after blooming. The stems will be turning brown and need to be cut back. When you do this, be sure to mark the location so you don't dig them up by accident.

When I bought this plant, it had beaucoup lovely blooms. After they fell off, I expected, according to the plant tag and the Western Garden Book, that I would get lots more. Have you tried looking for a food bank in your area? Or a church? I found one in L.A. that was happy to come out for an overabundance of plums one year.
